2. Old Business

a. Naval Base Golf Course. Grand opening of the newly remodeled Golf Practice and Learning Center was held 1 June. The facility is doing well, and has been profitable in the short time that it has been open. There are three holes available for play, one green is available as a practice area.

b. Golf E-Mail Specials. Mr. Dave Basta had GTC Engineering did a health evaluation on the Citrix System. The recommendations will be reviewed and feasibility of implementing their recommendations discussed. Until the system is at 100%, we will not be moving forward with the Premium Players Club.

c. Sea 'N Air Course Realignment. Contract completion date is now 5 Sep 07, although that may not be the date the course reopens for play. Waiting for the grass to grow. Greens are looking great, there are some sparse areas on fairways #14, #3 and #4. Mr. Magnani has added gypsum and changed the fertilizer, the area is improving. Looking for a soft opening followed by a grand opening approximately three weeks later. Restroom design is expected by 20 Jul 07 for review. Cart paths are being expanded but will not be wall to wall

d. Potable Water at Admiral Baker. Designer is to submit their proposal on 24 August 2007.

e. 19th Hole Dining Services.
" The Sunday Brunch will continue to be served at the 19th hole
" The 19th hole is open until 1800, later if there are customers at the bar
" During renovation, some days have been very slow for the Snack Shack on #12, only $40 in sales. When this happens, the course manager, Mr. Matt Brumbaugh is consulted as to how many golfers are anticipated. If it appears that there will not be many golfers, the trailer is closed but the beverage cart remains on the course.
" Mr. Young is working with Mr. Hammel (Dining Services Program Manager) on adding the folding wall to the clubhouse.

f. Five-somes during construction. There has been no impact on play at the course with five-somes. Since the reopening is so close, this is no longer considered to be an issue.

g. Creek at #14 Sea 'N Air. Wetland Restoration Project: The permits were submitted to the Army Corps of Engineer in early July. Permits take a minimum of a month to process. The duration of the project is 2-4 weeks (estimate) and includes removing fill and installing plants. Mr. Schouten has requested that prior to beginning any work that an Army Corps representative, the contractor and MWR reps meet on site to discuss the access/egress route and any impact to the course. Captain Osborne asked if a bubbler would be put in on #16. Mr. Young and Mr. Schouten replied that due to the cost of annual permits from ACE and the Coastal Commission, as well as the environmental process, a bubbler on #16 is not an option.

3. New Business.

a. Prioritized Project Update. Project updates for the Sea 'N Air, Admiral Baker and Naval Station Golf Courses were distributed and discussed by Mr. Mike Magnani. (See enclosures (1) through (3)).

b. CNRSW MWR Golf Course Financial Performance.

c. New Sea 'N Air Logo. The recommendation for a new course logo is timely, due to the course realignment and new clubhouse. Mr. Young indicated the process for a new logo would move forward. Capt. Osborne requested that one a design is available it be brought before the Golf Advisory Board.

d. Golf Cart Global Positioning System. The Sea 'N Air course has been wired for GPS and should be in the carts by the opening date of the course. Mr. Young commented that the GPS is a great addition to the program and should increase the speed of play and usage of carts. It was mentioned that old ads are rolling on the carts at Admiral Baker. Mr. Young will get with Mr. Higgins to have the ads updated. There are currently 140 carts at Admiral Baker but due to high usage, another 30 or 40 carts are required.

e. Sea 'N Air Restrooms. The plans have been drawn up for the restrooms and submitted to PWC for approval. The restroom project may not be completed prior to the course opening.

f. Golf Calendar. Capt. Osborne asked if it were possible to prepare a golf course calendar either for sale or for giving away to patrons. Mr. Young will talk to Ms. Walker, Marketing Director.

g. Water fountains at Admiral Baker. Mr. Gartside expressed his concern with the drinking water fountains at Admiral Baker. He indicated they are either not working or are unsightly. Mr. Magnani indicated that two of the fountains are broken but he will ensure they are repaired. Some discussion regarding the requirement for more water locations. One recommendation was to have the course Marshalls carry iced water and bring it around to the patrons on the course. This would provide the Marshalls with the opportunity to visit with patrons. Mr. Young will bring up this subject with Mr. Higgins.

h. Yardage Markers. Chief Edwards commented that yardage markers are hard to find. Mr. Magnani is in the process of replacing those yardage markers that are missing.

i. Seal Beach Clubhouse. Capt. Osborne brought up how nice the Seal Beach Clubhouse looks and that they have two display cases for trophys. Capt. Osborne would like to have trophy cases at the Sea 'N Air Clubhouse so the Men's Club can display their trophys.

j. Sand in bunkers. Chief Edwards expressed his thanks for the new sand that has been placed in the bunkers.

k. Driving range ball dispenser. Members would like to see a change machine or a machine that will accept bills in order to get balls to use on the driving range. Mr. Young will discuss with Mr. Higgins.

l. Sea 'N Air driving range. Work on the Sea 'N Air driving range will begin after the course realignment is complete.

4. Advisory board members who have questions or concerns may contact Mr. Dave Young at (619) 556-7029, Mr. Jim Higgins at (619) 556-5162 (Admiral Baker Golf Course), or Mr. Matt Brumbaugh at (619) 545-9658 (Sea 'N Air Golf Course).
