2. Old Business

a. Premium Players Club. Changes in the latest Golf Trak software do not allow for accurate tracking of debits to accounts and CNIC has made the decision not to allow credits in the system. Alternatives are an annual membership, with discounts for those who join. There would still be special events for members and we will continue with Punch cards. The following questions were asked and answered as indicated:

Mr. Jones - Would this be for individuals or families?
Mr. Young - After an annual account has been set up, additional family members can be added for a nominal fee.
Mr. Jones - Will MWR be raising prices to compensate?
Mr. Young - No, prices would not be raised to compensate, but reminded everyone that prices go up every year.
Captain Clove - Will the discount be paid up front?
Mr. Young - Yes.
Mr. Jones - Is there was an expected date that this would all take place?
Mr. Young - This should be in place before summer 2009.
Admiral Bepko - Need to advertise how many rounds need to be played before the money is recouped.
AMC Lalas - Overseas you can pay $260.00 and play free all year.
Mr. Young - Overseas is different than CONUS bases.
Capt. Osbourne - Need to have a full explanation of the pros and cons of a punch card versus membership. Is the price of a punch card posted?
Mr. Young - Cost of a punch card is $330.00 for 20 rounds, which equates to $16.50 per round.
Capt. Osbourne - Is a 10 round punch card feasible?
Mr. Young - There will be options to purchase any number of rounds.

b. Sea 'N Air Course Restroom. The restroom by #16 green will be constructed by Seabees and should start towards the beginning of September, will take approximately 120 days to complete, estimated date of completion is the end of January 2009. The restroom by #3 green, the RFP is being sent out on 17 Jul 08. Bids will be due 08 Aug 08. This will also begin early September with an estimated completion date of January 2009. Modification of the cart path will be included in restrooms project. The contract will be for the #1 and #7 tee, curb on 14, walking bridge on the right side of the 14th fairway. Cart traffic on #14 is a problem. Mr. Kemp agrees with Mr. Magnani to sod the area. In the interim, rake and remove the ice plant, drag it as a bunker. Men's Club will play this as a waste bunker.

c. Potable Water at Admiral Baker. Final design has been received however, designer will send a revised final drawing since the point of connection will be changing. Designer is waiting for cost from City to set meter at point of connection. We will contract out the line from the meter to the golf course crossing the street. In-house staff will install pipe from that point to the greens. No time frame. Concern with the City of San Diego and drought conditions. Capt. Osborne asked if anyone was working with the City of Coronado to bring recycled water to the course? Mr. Osbourne will speak with the Mayor of Coronado. Mr. Young will be the initial point of contact with the Region Energy Office.

d. GPS Upgrade. No system to order food will be installed at this time. Mr. Higgins did some research and found two vendors. Unit cost runs about $1,200 to $1,500 for a wireless unit. Capt. Osbourne would like to see a full-fledged food facility at Sea 'N Air like the Halfway House at Admiral Baker. Mr. Young will provide comments to the Dining Services department.

e. Speed of play at Sea 'N Air. Pace of play has improved. The new Firmware expected from the GPS vendor will not be ready until late August to mid September.

f. Sea 'N Air Clubhouse price increase. The menu was revised to mirror prices charged at Admiral Baker. Capt. Clove indicated that it was cheaper to eat in Coronado than it was at the Sea 'N Air Clubhouse. CDR Kemp did not agree with this statement, Capt. Clove indicated he had a list of places that were less expensive. Capt. Osbourne commented you can't get a "light" meal, and short items have been taken off the menu. Ms. Connors indicated items are still available if you ask for them.

g. Sprinkler Heads. The re-marking of sprinkler heads at Admiral Baker should be complete by the middle of August.

h. Hazardous tee at Sea 'N Air. There is an issue with the tee on #8. Balls are hooking onto private residential property. Mr. Higgins is reviewing the situation and will look at installing a high fence and trees to resolve the problem.

i. #14 Hole at Sea 'N Air. Plans are to build a walking bridge on the right side of the fairway.

3. New Business.

a. Prioritized Project Update. Project updates for the Sea 'N Air, Admiral Baker and Naval Station Golf Courses were distributed and discussed by Mr. Mike Magnani. (See enclosures (1) through (3)).
