Rules and Pairings

Below are the projected rules and pairings as of 20 Sep 06. Changes can be expected. The pairings, tee times and rules at game time take precedence over these posted on the web site. Please check in at least fourty-five minutes before your scheduled tee time.

Rules

  1. Each team member hits his tee shot.
  2. Select the better of the two balls for the next shot. Both balls may be placed within one club length of the selected ball but no nearer the hole.
    1. If ball is in the rough and within one club length, ball may be moved onto fairway.
    2. If selected ball is in bunker, player hitting the ball into bunker plays ball as it lies. Teammate rakes bunker and places his ball as near as possible to the same spot.
    3. If selected ball is off the green, it may not be moved onto green even if within one club length.
  3. When players are on putting green, if the ball of the player who putts first is not holed out, teammate's ball is putted from the same spot as first player.
  4. Score the hole when one ball is holed out.
  5. Enter gross team score.
  6. When ball is holed, play ends on that hole.
  7. NO PRACTICE PUTTING AFTER BALL IS HOLED OUT.
  8. Winners are determined by team total gross score less one half of combined handicap.

TOTAL TEAM SCORE: Enter one half of combined handicap. Subtract one half combined handicap from total team gross score and enter net score.

EXAMPLE: Player 1 is a 12; his partner is a 16; combined handicap is 28; one half is 14. Maximum difference on handicap of two players is 5. Use lowest handicap to determine high handicap if difference is greater than 5.

Exchange score cares with other team in your foursome!! You are responsible for the correctness of your score. Scorer and team members sign card.
