The format for this month's tournament is Four Man Scramble (see the rules below). Changes may be expected. The pairings, tee times and rules at game time take precedence over these posted on the web site. The first tee time is 0731. Please check in at least fourty-five minutes prior to your tee time.
The Pro Shop will have the pairings and tee times NLT Wed, 18 Feb.
With the nature of the Blind Draw and all that entails, requests for early, middle and late tee times cannot be accommodated.
FOUR MAN SCRAMBLE RULES
Teams. Players will first be divided into four handicap flights; A, B, C & D (flighted by Feb Indices). After flighting the players into four groups, the Tournament Chair will direct the computer, using individual handicaps, to try to balance A, B, C, and D players in each foursome, while trying to maintain equal team handicaps among the field.
Team Handicap: The Team Handicap shall be 15% of the sum of the four individual handicaps.
Format: Each team member hits from the designated tee (see below). For the second shot, by mutual agreement, the ball in the best location is selected. Each member plays their next shot from within one club length of the selected ball, but no nearer the hole. This procedure shall continue until a ball is on the putting green.
You may not use the one club length to move from the fringe to the green, from out of bounds to inbounds nor to get relief from a hazard.
If you elect to play a ball from a bunker, the ball shall be played as it lies by the player who hit into the bunker. Then, all other members must rake and place their ball in the same area.
Teeing positions: "A" players shall tee off from the Blue Tees and the other players shall hit from the White Tees. Exceptions: On holes 6, 8, 12 & 14 "D" players will hit from the Red Tees. On par 3's, ALL players hit from White Tees.
On the putting green: Place a marker next to the selected ball. All putts are made from within six inches of this spot, no closer to the pin. Mark and remove all balls that have been putted. Continue this procedure until a putt is holed out. No practice putting. Move to the next tee.
Team captain: The "A" player is the Team Captain and shall ensure:
Each player contributes three tee shots, mark the scorecard (tee shots from par 3's count).
Players tee off from the proper teeing ground.
Recording of the Team GROSS Score on each hole.
All team members sign scorecard.
Completed scorecard is turned in to the tournament scoring desk.
Substitutes: If a team is missing a player, the following applies:
"A" player missing: "B" player hits 2 shots through 18 holes. Team uses highest handicap from the "A" flight list (12).
"B" player missing: "C" player hits 2 shots through 18 holes. Team uses highest handicap from the "B" flight list (17).
"C" player missing: "D" player hits 2 shots through 18 holes. Team uses highest handicap from the "C" flight list (22).
"D" player missing: "C" player hits one extra shot tee to green and one extra putt on each hole. Team uses lowest handicap in the "D" flight (23).
Scoring: The GROSS Score is recorded at the bottom of the scorecard hole-by-hole. The Final NET Score is determined by subtracting the Team HCP from the Total GROSS Score. The team with the the lowest Team NET Score wins.
Special:
Practice Putt(s) / Shot(s) are Prohibited during the round.
"Closest to the Pin" will be awarded on four of the five par three holes.
If a player is closest to the pin, his team does not have to select that ball as their drive for that hole.
Only the first tee shot by a substitute will count for "Closest to the Pin."
