Sea 'N Air Men's Golf Club Monthly Minutes

July 22, 2009, 19th Hole Restaurant

The meeting was called to order at 1300 hours by President Ted Sholl. Bill Scarborough and Steve Myatt were not present.

The minutes of the June meeting were approved. The treasurer’s report was accepted.

Special Projects: Hole in one and shooting age are posted. Need pictures.

Weekday Play: Confusion continues over changing the handicap ranges for the three flights. There should be more consistency in issuing DQ’s. Steve will be asked to propose changes to the SOP to address these issues.

Tournament: 90 players have signed up for the Member/Guest. Payout for 7 of 15 teams in each of the three flights. All par threes will be “closest to the pin”. $300 from the men’s club will be provided to Matt for prizes from the pro shop.

Handicap: January 1 the GHIN system goes into effect. A 9 will be in front of the SCGA #. Index will change mid month. We will need high speed internet access. This will affect the Women’s Club, too. Sharing the cost between both clubs could be possible. The deadlind for the 4 ball entrance fee is Aug 7.

Senior League: Playing teams above us in the standings. Presently in 7th place.

Entertainment: Coordinate names of donors and prize contributed. The wedding reception later in the afternoon will not impact us.

Webmaster: La Costa tournament is full. Of 257 members 133 have opted in for email notification. 37 don’t have email. We need to encourage others to opt in.

Publicity: Eclectic results were published and were correct.

MWR Rep: Advisory Board - $295,000 cash flow has been generated year to date. Money will be used for upgrades to the courses. A stretching cage is a high priority. 5somes Monday through Thursdays are not required to have a cart resulting in some slow play. River water can not be used to irrigate Baker courses as it is too salty. I Club will be leveled and rebuilt. Club Coronado will be renovated. MWR needs a handicap chairman.
Sea N Air Pro: For member/guest, free driving range, bottled water on #1 and #10. Marshall cart will have water. Matt/staff will enter team scores and quickly determine results.

Superintendent: Course is being readied for the member/guest tournament. Aeration schedule has been changed to occur after the club championship. Mud spots are the result of summer watering schedule and will be roped off.

Respectfully submitted,
